Our reproduction sword bayonet comes with the barrel lug ring, leather scabbard and double loop frogg to wear on belt (LEATH-11). For use with Mississippi Rifle 1841.

Although the M1841 U.S. Rifle was .54cal and without a bayonet, beginning in 1855, the Mississippi rifle (named as such due to the success of the weapon by a Mississippi Regiment under the command of Jefferson Davis during the Mexican War) was re-manufactured to support a sword bayonet that was developed with three different fittings stud, ring, and socket. Just prior to the Civil War, 8,879 of these weapons were rebored to .58 caliber, improved rear sights were added, and their brass tipped ramrods were replaced by an all steel type with an exaggerated trumpet head profile.
